| Simpson’s was established in 1945,
originally carrying out building contracts for domestic and agricultural
clients, adding civil engineering works to our business in 1976. In
1994, Nick Simpson (son of the founder) became Managing Director,
having already worked in the company for 20 years, and re-formed the
company into Simpson Civil Engineering Ltd and Simpson Plant Hire
Ltd, reinforcing the companies positions as specialists in their fields.
For many years, Simpson’s has continuously reinvested in
new innovations and technology, gained recognition through providing
effective specialised civil engineering solutions and reliable specialised
plant for hire. Both companies have achieved sound growth as a result.
Our annual turnover has increased from 0.5 million in 1994 to 3
million in 2002.
From 5 employees in 1945 we now have 62 employees. Our investment
in innovation and technology also extends to our employees and we
are proud to have achieved recognition as an Investor in People.
Recognising that each of our employees is a key factor in our success
we have a continuous training programme which is an essential part
of Simpson’s. Committed as we are to skills training and quality
control, we do not employ casual workers or sub-contractors other
than to meet specialist needs from time to time.
Our companies are very aware of the effects our operations may
have on the environment and because of this we have a stringent
environmental policy in place, recognising the importance of this
to our clients' reputation in their businesses. |
